Today’s media environment needs professionals with interdisciplinary approaches and skills. As the Department of New Media and Communication, we graduate students who know the characteristics of new media well, have embraced the importance of creative and critical thinking, and have achieved the dynamics of the industry by becoming competent in the use of new communication technologies.
Department Facilities
All classrooms of our faculty have advanced audio-visual equipment and information infrastructure. We use the computer laboratories, the photography, television, and radio studios in the Media Center for the practical work of the department students. In addition, students can access rich library database services in our new and modern campus. Thanks to student exchange agreements and practices (Erasmus) with foreign universities, our students have the opportunity to study abroad and experience life abroad.
Program Structure
In our training program, we combine the academic content knowledge, digital content development, and social media management branches of the new media in a single pattern. As a department, we have three main goals. The first is to increase the intellectual accumulation of students to improve their analysis skills. The second is to make them endow digital platforms with writing and design skills, which enable them to produce content. Third, to reinforce their technology and research directions so that they can manage social media platforms and develop strategies. We also support our students in establishing their start-ups if they wish.
Post Graduation Job Opportunities
Our graduates work in corporate communication units in the public and private sectors in all areas of the media sector, especially in a newspaper, radio, television, and internet journalism; They can work in the areas of Social Media Analysis, Social Media Management, Social Media Strategy Expertise, Digital Content Strategy Expertise, Digital Content Design, Digital Content Development, Multimedia Journalism, Visual Journalism, Digital Storytelling and Virtual Event Management.
